"I was sick and you looked after me."
Matthew 25:36

Nicaragua - November 1998

After hurricane Mitch devastated Central America in October 1998, a call went out for assistance for Nicaragua.

A Westminster Medical Team with a team from Heaven Sent Ministries (Princeton, WV) spent a week doing post hurricane medical care in small villages as well as supporting local churches.

One of the most difficult parts of this trip was going up and down river banks trying to cross flooded areas.  To our surprise, a land mine was detonated by the soldiers in an area that we had walked through repeatedly on our way to different villages.

There was also the threat of a volcano eruption while we were there.

The people were great to work with and God was ever present.
